Leah, series editor extraordinaire at teenlibris.com, was spending far too much of her valuable time manually updating the Teen Libris website. When adding new content to one of its many sections, she had to trudge through numerous web pages, write the HTML herself, and remember to update all of the links scattered throughout the website that should point back to the new content.
Fed up with such a tedious process, Leah contacted us and asked if we could implement a content management system that would:
- Streamline the process without requiring someone to manually edit the website’s HTML
- Off-load some of the duties to other staff members by providing them with controlled access to the content management system
- Not change anything about the website’s existing design
Using ExpressionEngine, we were able to build a system that met all of her needs while adding more features that will extend the capabilities of the website now and in the future. This way, expansion—if desired—is much easier to accomplish as the foundation is already in place.
Since updating the Teen Libris website new content is added more often and it’s far easier—and much more accurate—to edit the existing content as well.
Project Testimonial
Leah Wilson of BenBella BooksMarc’s professionalism and expertise blew me away; his work is characterized not just by technical skill but clarity of communication and real attention to his client’s needs. He did more than deliver on what was asked of him; he offered solutions for problems we hadn’t yet realized we had. Everything we needed, he was able to provide, and it was clear that if there were any issue or request he couldn’t address himself, he knew someone talented, honest, and reliable who could. Marc’s patience, accessibility, and good humor make him a pleasure to work with, and my new first choice for any web development project.
